The BPW Water Department is a vital division dedicated to delivering safe, clean, and reliable water services to our community. Our mission is to ensure that every resident has access to high-quality water while maintaining the infrastructure and operations necessary for optimal performance and sustainability.
The BPW manages the C. Wendall Alfred Water Production facility and wellfield, where water is sourced from the Columbia Group-Pocomoke aquifer. The BPW tests and treats the water in accordance with regulatory requirements before distributing it through its infrastructure, which it maintains up to the curb stop. The customer is responsible for purchasing and maintaining meter pit. The customer is also responsible for purchasing the initial meter. The BPW will maintain the meter as part of the ready to serve.
